Sometimes I look at a photograph and I have this need to give its character a story. The artwork is so creative in itself, I feel tangled in the visual imagination of the artist. How does the photographer achieve such a result? How can we give this effect via writing?
Laura Ferreira Studios is a great example of a communicative and effective artwork. Her photographs are amazing and so inspiring.
One apparent aspect is the makeup job which is incredibly colourful. The juxtaposition of different textures captivates the eye. It isn’t realistic, its more of a magical makeup with sparkles and uncommon colours : it plunges the spectator in a mystical world. Making our writing more colourful can also stimulate the imagination of our readers.
The attention to detail is remarkable. In writing, we sometimes don’t preoccupy ourselves with so many details in a description, yet seeing it all is so stimulating.
By Ferreira’s choice of colours, we can feel the photograph’s expressivity and emotion.
Laura Ferreira is also on DeviantArt.
Are you able to describe one of these photographs and keep the same effects (the mystical, the emotion, the vivacity of colours)?
